Rene you freaking ROCK!!!

Okay so I know it's dumb to get all excited over but.....I was making cream of wheat the other day and burnt the milk to the bottom of my pot. Now this is my favorite pot, besides this one I have my big pasta pots and my small one I boil tea water in. But this pot is the only one that is the perfect size to make cream of wheat or oatmeal in for the entire family. And I ruined it! I've been trying to scrub it and soak it in hot water for a few days. So when I was on the phone with Rene today she told me to put some water in the pot with dishsoap and boil it for like 10 min. And guess what???? It freaking worked! So again RENE YOU FREAKING ROCK! lol.

Something else kinda related....I found out while talking to Rene. She's never had Cream of Wheat. Is this common? My family eats it all the time, I always had it on cold mornings growing up. So how bout you? Cream of Wheat? Oatmeal??? What was your breakfasts growing up?

OK, what exactly is cream? I'm sure we don't have the same thing in mind. :-P LOL

Are you being dirty Mailyn??? lol. I can't explain it it's just cream! lol...

Mailyn you perv! lol.

I love cream of wheat. I like it a little lumpy. Why? I don't know.

My mom used to make it all the time for us growing up. That and oatmeal.

We'd have that with juice and toast. Mom would sprinkle chocolate powder too. Yummy.

I remember my mom doing the boil soapy water to remove burns from the pan. Glad it worked!

I did have Cream of Wheat growing up. Mmmm. But it had to have butter on top & a slice of toast to go with it. Yumm!

LOL, I like it a little lumpy too Izzy. Josh thinks I'm all strange about it. And I like it thick, not soupy.

Cece, you can't have in without Butter. EVER! lol. But I'll pass on the toast.

I sweeten mine with Honey & Butter, but the kids and Josh like Sugar and Butter. I rarley ever use sugar, only in coffee.

Useless man,
Welcome to my blog! And Honey Nut Cheerios w/ 2% milk? Perfect, I love that in the summer, but I like hot cereal in the winter. Ya know? The only thing is now I use Skim Milk.

I eat Quaker's Oatmeal for women that has tons of vitamins in it. You gotta get the cinnamin and vanilla one---then put a dab of maple syrup on it. It's un-fricken-real!

Glad you recovered that pot! I have a "perfect size pan" that I would be lost without! I feel your pain!

Never had cream of wheat...isn't that what Little Miss Muffet was eating? Curds and whey, gross.

I used to enjoy cereal...some cafe con leche and toast if I was lucky.

Season loves to have Oatmeal.

Ugh, Im straight on ALL of that creamy crap in the morning...if I had anything hot in the cereal variety, it was polesi..which is Oatmeal in Samoan. But that's it.

Cream of Wheat? YUCK. Grits? HELL NO YUCK.

I'm a cereal in the morning or bagel girl...my cereal of choice lately has been the same as Useless Man, Honey Nut Cheerios, Brenna loves that stuff!

Glad you got your pot cleaned. I cudda told you that trick!

I've never had Cream of Wheat. And I just tried Oatmeal in the last three years or so. Gord eats it every day. My mother didn't buy either.

We ate a lot of cheap cereal growing up ... Fluffs, Puffed Wheat, Corn Flakes, etc. My fav cereal now that I buy my own is Mini Wheats ... they rock!!

I used to make Cream of Wheat everyday for breakfast...then I got spent on Cream of Wheat...it doesn't taste very good with mojitos!

Mermaid,
Yeah, your right cream of wheat and mojitos they wouldn't go. But since the kids don't get mojitos I'm good. lol.

Teena,
I LOVE mini wheats! They sooo rock. lol.

Dylan,
Yeah, your just to funny girl. lol. All that cream crap...

Fortress,
Yeah, I don't know about the little miss muffet thing, lol. But I do know your missing out on cream of wheat so go try it!

Holly,
Gritts? Never had, sounds gritty. lol.

Rene,
Love you and you know your never useless! Now go buy some Cream of Wheat, or I'll just feed it to you the next time you come over. Hint, hint.

Deb,
Is that one of the instant oatmeals? I don't like the instant kind. And I never saw that kind you make yourself in flavors. I'll have to look though, make sure I'm not missing out.

Cream of wheat rocks- a bit on the runny side is best, with a bit of milk.

Okay, I have a question. What is Cream on Wheat? Is that like Porridge? If so, I've had porridge before, when I was growing up. Otherwise, I don't think I've had it before since I don't know what it is. LOL.

But growing up, I was more of a cereal kid. Coco Pops, Special K, Fruit Loops..that sort of stuff.

First of all you little Aussie girl it's Cream OF Wheat. lol. And yeah, I guess it's kinda like Porridge, I think. hah a.

I used to eat Cream of Wheat all the time when I was younger. Not an oatmeal fan. But once I "discovered" grits when I was in Mississippi, I don't think I'd ever go back to C.o.W.

Grace said...

LOL. My bad. Cream of Wheat. See? I got it right this time. Hehehe.

And since it's similar to porridge, yep..I've had that a couple of times but not often. It tastes good but looked funky to me when I was younger, so I opted to have cereal instead. Haha.
